St. Albert's Pisa Pizza & Pasta is all about freshness. Using recipes passed down through generations, John Servellini and his family cook up some of the best pizzas in town. The shop opened in 2003 in the Akinsdale neighbourhood and has been growing in popularity since, combining high-quality food with great service. “Being a family-run business in a unique area like St. Albert has been fantastic,” says John. He understands there are a lot of families who like to treat themselves to Friday night pizzas, and he feels that providing them with satisfying food is a worthwhile goal. “People want to eat something that is like a home-cooked meal.”
John believes that Pisa Pizza & Pasta is set apart from the big chain restaurants by the ingredients they use: dough made daily, a great-tasting sauce and a wide assortment of fresh toppings. For John, there's no struggle in choosing between a meal made-to-order versus a packaged one: “I’d rather eat something that’s fresh than eat something that’s dried and been sitting in a pack for years.”
