The Dinner Factory is a meal assembly store where you can make up to 12 delicious family-size entrees in about two hours. Our entrees require minimal prep at home and can be enjoyed immediately or frozen. We also offer a variety of fresh and frozen ready-to-go meals for those in a hurry.
If you are looking for healthy yet quick meals, St. Albert’s Dinner Factory may be for you. The company provides recipes and ingredients so people can go prepare take-home freezer meals on-site. Edward and Kim Wanat have been the co-owners of the Dinner Factory since they bought it in 2012. “I just kind of looked at society and what’s happening: the fact that people want to eat healthy, real food and wholesome ingredients where you’re not dealing with a lot of preservatives and yet they still want the convenience,” says Kim.
“You assemble meals in such a way that all of the components can be frozen, and once they’re put back together, it’s like you’re creating a fresh meal,” Kim says. It takes about two hours to build 12 meals – the prep work and chopping has already been done and clean-up is taken care of by staff. For an additional cost, staff will pack meals for you, saving you even more time. Meals come in three sizes, including individual portions. “We’re very motivated to see if we can service seniors … we’ve heard from so many customers that it’s a big worry, what their parents are eating,” says Kim.
We have recently been introduced to the Dinner Factory. We have used their “Take n’ Bake” service & most recently enjoyed “Shrimp with Peanuts & Pasta”, “Pulled Pork” & the “Deliciously Delicious Lasagna”. The detailed cooking instructions included with each entrée were easy to follow. The quality of the meals was superb, variety of flavours outstanding & the portion sizes very generous. We have enjoyed these meals ourselves & also shared them with guests…Rave reviews from everyone!

What more can I say about Dinner Factory other than it's a lifesaver!! My wife and I book a session at Dinner Factory nearly every month and we look forward to the release of their menu with great anticipation. The concept is what makes it the best - meal prepping 6, 9, or 12 meals at a time (all with delicious fresh ingredients may I add) is what we live off. I highly recommend Dinner Factory for any busy families or even just busy couples!
Have been to Dinner Factory 3 times before and had a total blast. They were all great experiences.
The last time I went when I was greeted I told them I was there to make meals. The reply was that I needed to book online. When I explained that I had been there many times before and never had to book ahead of time a lady from the other side of the room snarled and said "WE DON'T DO THAT HERE." When I tried talking to her she barely gave me time of day, but strongly answered that it "does not work like that" even though every other time I had gone that was in fact the process.
We were about to leave when they said that we could purchase some pre-made meals. Not as fun as building the meals, but we were going to anyways.
When it was time to pay I handed them a $50 gift card and they said "We don't except these anymore." Shocked, I repeated to be sure that THEY were not going to except THEIR gift card. "Yep we don't except paper ones anymore so you can rip that up." A gift card to Dinner factory we had received as birthday present was NOT accepted at Dinner Factory.
Something has clearly changed and this place is now a joke for a business. There are many other business like this in the Edmonton area that are just the same and the customer service will definitely be better and their business policies will be customer orientated.
