As a 10-year-old, Lara Presber spent half her time designing and sewing doll clothes and the other half building go-karts. “I always liked to make things,” says Lara.
Today, the architect and fashion designer spends all her time doing both. She fuses both her passions into one business at Studio Presber Architecture + Design on First Street Southwest.
With an architecture degree from Boston Architectural Centre, a masters degree in fashion design from the University of Wales in Milan and 20 years of combined work experience in both streams, Lara offers a unique, comprehensive approach to commercial and residential projects ranging from restaurants and retail spaces to homes. She integrates what she calls “layers of graphics, fashion and installation art for a complete brand experience.” So far, so successful.
“I feel like you can draw from all these different skill sets and create this complete experience,” says Lara. “When you go to a restaurant, it’s not just about the food. It’s the service. It’s the atmosphere. You’re going for the full experience not just the shell.”
