Three guys who loved videotaping their skateboarding exploits when they were younger have turned that talent into a successful film company called Ramble Films.
In 2012, James Barry was working at an advertising agency when he was tasked with shooting a Harley Davidson commercial. He called his friends Josh Sandulak and Sean Edwards to help. Things went so well with the commercial that the three of them decided to quit their full-time jobs and make Ramble Films their career.
“I think it’s good the way we did it without that safety net because we had to make it work,” says Sean. “It was nerve-wracking at times, but also really exciting. It was pretty cool.”
“The first year of business was like going to school,” says James. “Learning how to run a business and do things properly. You figure it out as you go.” The trio’s talent allowed them to build an impressive portfolio that included several music videos and their work with former Kids in the Hall star Bruce McCulloch on web content for his show Young Drunk Punk.
