Just stepping inside Patisserie Du Soleil is a treat is a treat in itself. Within the southwest French bakery and café, the rich aroma of fresh baking welcomes visitors to linger as they might in a Parisian street café. “I love it here. It’s a little taste of Paris,” says regular patron Rachel Arnold. An enormous poster featuring the Eiffel Tower confirms the self-evident Frenchness of the place, as does a captivating array of cakes, croissants, cookies, cream puffs, tarts and pies available to eat in or take away. Behind the front counter, owner Ala Nahal displays baguettes as well as white and multi-grain bread. He also carries imported premium French foodstuffs such as dressings, ciders, mustards, carbonated mineral water and pickled shallots.
