Cornelia and Jon Wiebe began establishing their A-list fashion sensibilities in 1997, when they first opened Leo Boutique in Winnipeg. Now with stores in Vancouver and Calgary, Leo Boutique is sought out by respected and known designers from around the world to partner as the flagship store for their particular brand.
“Every season we are approached by globally respected and recognized brands and designers,” Cornelia says. “Sometimes they are only looking for a handful of partners in the country, but often they want us leading their brand. Our service, combined with the brands and designers, has made us a destination that we work hard to uphold.”
From the part-time staff members to Jon and Cornelia themselves, everyone at Leo has the fashionable eye to help those who want to stay on the forefront of fashion. “Our staff love staying in tune with the direction of fashion,” Cornelia says. “They identify with getting away from generic, mass-market types of retailers.”
Leo Boutique has been selling contemporary brands in Calgary since 1997. While the dresses at Leo are at a higher price point, the cocktail-style pieces are timeless and definitely worth the investment so you can wear them again and again. Here, the focus is classic black or white in styles like a one-shouldered trendy American designer Ronny Kobo or a long chemise from Toronto designer Horses Atelier.
Leo Boutique has been a go-to clothing shop for stylish urbanites in Calgary since 1997. Snag hard-to-find contemporary labels for men and women like Ksubi and Neuw Denim from Australia or Nudie Jeans, which are stiff upon purchase but are meant to be worn in. The store’s simple decor with wooden tables and dark grey floor is almost as cool as you’ll feel in your new jeans.
