Established in the mid-1980s, Bodythings sells dance clothing to dancers of all levels in Calgary. Owner Luke Gerard bought the business in the early 1990s, when it primarily sold swimwear, cruise clothing and athletic clothing. The focus was changed to dance and they've had a lot of success ever since.
People who shop in Luke's store are usually the mothers of dancers. “We are a specialty dance store,” he says. “The main reason people shop here is for the customer service and the selection.” Luke says customers often tell him exactly that. Although there are other dance clothing shops out there, customers keep coming back to Bodythings.
